New draft bill regarding restrictions for cabinet ministers and state secretaries

26 February 2018

A new draft bill has been presented by the Swedish Government in which certain restrictions are being suggested to be made available for cabinet ministers and state secretaries leaving the public sector for a position in the private sector. In short, the draft bill contains a proposal that cabinet ministers and state secretaries will be required to give notification of their intent to leave the public sector for a position in the private sector. The notifications will be handled by a committee which will have the option to determine that the transfer should be subject to either a full restriction or subject to specific restrictions for up to 12 months.
