Sweden drops on the Corruption Perceptions Index

22 February 2018

Yesterday, Transparency International published their annual Corruption Perceptions Index in which the countries of the world are scored based on perceived corruption levels. For the year 2017, Sweden dropped to place number six on the list, compared to being ranked fourth during 2016. At the bottom of the list is Somalia. Over two-thirds of the countries on the list have a score below 50 points (the countries are scored on a scale of 0 – 100, where higher scores indicate that the country is believed to be less corrupt). Sweden received 84 points in the 2017-index.

The drop on the list serves as a reminder to never ease up in the battle against corruption.

The Index is available on Transparency Internationals website and can be found here.
